Indonesia Wins Awards at International Travel Exhibition in Vietnam
Jakarta. Indonesia won the best booth design award and an exhibitor recognition award during the International Travel Expo Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam on Sept. 7-9.
"These awards show that our country does have the capacity, ability and guts to compete," Tourism Minister Arief Yahya said in a statement on Tuesday (12/09).
The exhibition attracted 250 exhibitors, 200 travel agents and more than 26,000 visitors.
The Ministry of Tourism brought 15 Indonesian tourism industry players and the Bali Tourism Agency.
The Indonesia pavilion occupied a 90-square-meter area, consisting of 10 booths. The main icon for the pavilion was a phinisi, or traditional Indonesian two-masted sailing ship.
The booths displayed three-dimension pictures of Borobudur Temple in Central Java, Ulun Danu Beratan Temple in Bali and the branding of the 2018 Asian Games, which will be hosted by Jakarta and Palembang, South Sumatra.
Information of various Indonesian tourism destinations were also on display, including the National Monument (Monas) in Jakarta and Raja Ampat in Papua.
The pavilion also featured an Indonesian tourism service center, interactive map of the archipelago, a coffee and refreshment corner, digital interactive corner and quizzes and games, as well as a gift redemption desk.
Indonesia previously won awards for the best marine and diving booth at a travel expo in Japan and the most impressive decoration at Vietnam International Travel Mart 2017.
