Japanese Instrument Casio Embraces Digital Era in Latest Release
Jakarta. Japanese electronic music instrument company Casio has embraced the digital era with latest products Celviano Grand Hybrid and keyboard arranger MZ-X Series, which were launched in Jakarta on Monday (05/09).
The digital era has certainly played its part in boosting the creativity of the Indonesian music industry. The effect of this creative boost rippled all through the music instrument industry in particular, especially locally where the market is among the largest in Asia.
The industry caters to professional musicians and hobbyists alike with music a strong cultural factor in Indonesia.
“Through our latest products, Celviano Grand Hybrid and MZ-X Series, we are beginning to enter the professional market,” Takaki Maeda, the general manager of the EMI sales division of Casio Tokyo, said.
"We have seen that the music industry in Indonesia is extremely vast, from the general public all the way to professional musicians. These products cater to these segments specifically.”
Celviano Grand Hybrid is one of Casio's masterpiece combining 300-year-old traditional piano acoustics and combines piano technology from Berlin, Hamburg and Vienna as well as a mix of traditional and tech innovation.
Indonesian classical music maestro and Casia product ambassador Ananda Sukarlan testified to Celviano's superiority.
“The mechanism of this product is similar to that of the grand piano, not upright piano, so young pianists who mostly own upright piano will not be taken aback with the accentuation of the grand piano during concert or competition.” he said.
Casio’s technology also allows its users to record what they play accurately, he added.
“It functions like a magnifying glass," he said.
“Its ability to reproduce in a slower tempo doesn’t only put an emphasis on the speed, but also the details that you can’t spot if it were played in a faster tempo. I think it has such a great potential to educate young pianists.”
On the other hand, MZ-X Series is a digital instrument and it targets keyboard players. With its rich variant melody and rhythm, music lovers can play and create different types of songs. It is relatively affordable and Casio has added a color touch screen, microphone input as well as technology sampling to its features, among others.
