Jakarta. President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo arrived in neighboring Brunei Darussalam on Saturday to attend the wedding of Prince Abdul Mateen and participate in a business forum.

The president wrote on his social media accounts that he was invited to the wedding by Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah.

Upon his arrival, Jokowi was welcomed by Brunei’s top security officials including Defense Minister Pehin Halbi bin Mohd: Yussof, Police Chief Mohammad Irwan bin Hambali, and Armed Forces Commander Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan.

Earlier, AP reported that Prince Abdul Mateen, 32, has married Anisha Rosnah Isa-Kalebic, 29, in a ceremony that began on Jan. 7 and will end on Tuesday.

Mateen is the fourth son and 10th child of Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah and sixth in line to the throne.

His engagement with Anisha, who is the granddaughter of the ruler's special advisor, was announced in October, reported AP.

The Brunei trip wraps up Jokowi’s three-country tour in Southeast Asia this week after he also visited the Philippines and Vietnam.
