Jakarta. Following its sold-out concert in Medan, North Sumatra, earlier this year, Japanese online messaging service Line returned with its third concert, this time at the Jogja Expo Center in Yogyakarta on Oct. 20.

In keeping with the goal of engaging closely with audiences, Dale Kim, global communications director at Line Corporation, said users chose the city as the concert venue in a survey.

"We asked our users to get involved in the planning process, including choosing the city and deciding the lineup, by conducting a survey through Line Concert's official account," Kim said.

Line brought in another batch of talented Indonesian musicians, including the Rayuan Project, Raisa, Tulus and Glenn Fredly, for its concert in Yogyakarta.

"As the first market that experienced the Line Concert, Indonesian users had such a great response to our previous concerts in Surabaya [East Java] and Medan. Both concerts were sold out and gained positive reviews from our users," Kim said.

"We're happy and excited to bring the Line universe to our users and to be closer with them through this music celebration," he added.

For around four hours, the audience was treated with quality performances.

Pop singer and rising diva Raisa opened the show with her heartbreaking and upbeat renditions of her hits, such as "LDR" ("Long-Distance Relationship"), "Jatuh Hati" ("Falling in Love"), "Serba Salah" ("Indecisive"), "Tentang Cinta" ("About Love") and "Terjebak Nostalgia" ("Trapped in Nostalgia").

Despite being pregnant, Raisa still wowed the audience with her energetic performance and sultry voice, encouraging fans to sing along with her through to the end of her performance.

The Rayuan Project, a musical collaboration between Ran and newcomer Yura Yunita, livened the stage with their fun and colorful duet, performing their hit songs "Jauh Dimata Dekat Dihati" ("Far From the Eyes, Near to the Heart"), "Melawan Dunia" ("Against the World"), "Harus Bahagia" ("Must Be Happy") and "Intuisi" ("Intuition").

They also took the audience down memory lane with "Kulakukan Semua" ("I'll Do It All") by popular 90s duo Fatur and Nadila.

Another artist featured in the concert lineup was Tulus, performing for the second time since the Line Concert in Surabaya last year. For this year's performance, the jazz and soul singer brought the Bandung, West Java-based Glorify the Lord Choir to sing a few of his songs together.

Tulus also invited two of his fans on stage to sing his popular song, "Sepatu" ("Shoes").

Glenn Fredly topped the other performances at the Line Concert with renditions of his classic romantic songs, "My Everything" and "Perempuanku" ("My Woman").

He also got the crowd jumping with his song "Hikhayat Cinta" ("Love Story"), which earned him a rapturous applause.

Glenn's thanked his fans and Line users for choosing and allowing him to return to the stage.

"This is my third concert with Line and I am glad that I can see you all again. I hope we will see each other again in the next one [concert]," he said, before returning with his piano and hinting at his next song. This drove the audience wild with excitement, as he sang "Januari" ("January").

The audience was just as excited to hear him sing "Terserah" ("Up to You") and "Hujan Warna-Warni" ("Rainbow Rain") accompanied by guitarist Andre Dinuth and saxophonist Nicky Manuputty.

The 43-year-old singer ended the concert with a surprise by singing a Korean version of his hit song "Nyali Terakhir" ("Last Courage").

Towards the end, the artists gave a heartfelt performance dedicated to victims of the Central Sulawesi earthquake. Ran, Yura Yunita, Tulus and Glenn Fredly expressed their grief over the tragedy that struck in late September. Line set up a donation booth on the grounds where concertgoers could make donations for the relief effort.

Popular features from the messaging app, such as Line Today, Line Stickers, Line Chat Group, Line Video Call and Line Square, were incorporated into the artists' performances, adding fun and unique elements to the visuals of the concert.

Audience members were also immersed in the Line universe at the venue where they could take photos with character mascots, such as Brown, Cony and many others. Concertgoers also had the opportunity to win Line merchandise at the game activity booths.

Line Concert Yogyakarta generated strong enthusiasm, with two batches of presales tickets selling out in only two days, and the entire event being sold out in less than a month.
