Miles Films Holds Fan-Fiction Contest for 'AADC' Fans

Jakarta. "Ada Apa Dengan Cinta?," or "What's Up With Love?", the 2002 Indonesian teen drama popularly known as "AADC," ended with quite a big cliffhanger.

The two high-school lovebirds at the story center, Cinta (Dian Sastrowardoyo) and Rangga (Nicholas Saputra), have to bid teary farewell at the airport when the male protagonist leaves Jakarta for New York.

The upcoming sequel, due out in April, will reveal what happens 14 years later — but now "AADC" loyal fans are also given a chance to imagine their own version of the story.

On Monday (14/03), the production house Miles Films announced via Twitter a new contest that invites fans to submit a fan-fiction work revolving around "AADC" characters in various formats.

Until Apr. 14, participants can create video, comic and mini novel that can be submitted to, and, respectively. In addition to those formats, fans can also come up with short text, photo series or GIF and post it on their accounts on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram.

The winners will be selected by the scriptwriter of "AADC 2", Prima Rusdi.

In the much-anticipated sequel, set to hit Indonesian cinemas on Apr. 28, Dian and Nicholas will reprise their leading roles alongside Titi Kamal, Adinia Wirasti, Sissy Priscillia and Dennis Adhiswara. The film is directed by Riri Riza and produced by Mira Lesmana.
