Jakarta. Actor Reza Rahadian plays an oncologist living in Budapest in "Surga Yang Tak Dirindukan 2" ("An Undesired Bliss 2"), which requires him to speak Hungarian in the film.

Reza's character is Syarief, an oncologist with a Hungarian father and Javanese mother, who speaks both Indonesian and Hungarian fluently. While he only had several lines in the Hungarian language, Reza went to study pronunciation with a Hungarian living in Yogyakarta for the role.

"I spent two weeks to learn saying my lines with him, and I only studied my lines from the script, not the language. He was very helpful," Reza said. "The pronunciation was quite difficult. I cannot read the writing, so this has been the most challenging part of playing Syarief."

Reza previously starred in movies with co-star Laudya Cynthia Bella and Raline Shah, who play Arini and Meirose in the movie, but the polygamy sequel sees him acting with Fedi Nuril (Pras) for the first time.

"Surga Yang Tak Dirindukan 2" is produced by Manoj Punjabi from MD Pictures and directed by Hanung Bramantyo, who previously helmed the 2008 drama "Ayat-Ayat Cinta" ("The Verses of Love") that stars Fedi in the leading role. Hanung took the baton to direct the sequel from Kuntz Agus. He and Manoj also contributed to the script, written by Alim Sudio.

The movie is an adaptation of a novel by Asma Nadia. It will open in Indonesian cinemas on Feb. 9.
