Sawahlunto Hosts Multicultural Festival
Jakarta. West Sumatra held a multicultural festival in Sawahlunto from Nov. 25 to Dec.1 to celebrate the 129th anniversary of the city.
The festival is held at the BA Ombilin football field.
Sawahlunto Tourism Agency head Efriyanto said as a cultural and historical city, Sawahlunto has big potential in the tourism sector to boost the economy.
The festival has a direct impact to the public, especially in accommodation, restaurants, transportation, and souvenir businesses.
“It also brings an impact to multiethnic art and culture in Sawahlunto,” Efriyanto said.
This festival also coincided with various competitions, such as the Minang Song Competition.
