Transport Minister Budi Karya Sumadi sends off B-Universe Media Holdings

Tangerang. Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi on Monday sent off B-Universe Media Holdings’ team who would be covering the Eid homecoming.

Hundreds of millions of Indonesians will travel back to their hometowns during the upcoming Eid holidays. B-Universe -- which encompasses BTV, Jakarta Globe, Beritasatu.com, Investor.id, and Investor Daily -- will be keeping the public updated on the Eid travels.

According to Minister Budi, the media plays a key role in making sure that the Eid travels go without problems "by disseminating information at all times where the traffic jams are, and the free-flowing traffic”.

“The government is really serious about this Eid trip. Mr. President [Joko “Jokowi” Widodo] has given his instructions,” Budi said at the send-off ceremony in front of B-Universe’s head office in Pantai Indah Kapuk 2, Tangerang.

According to B-Universe’s executive chairman Enggartiasto Lukita, the Eid homecoming coverage is something that B-Universe covers every year. The media company will deploy its reporters to give the latest updates on the Eid exodus routes.

“I’m sure that the information on traffic jams, along with the alternative routes, will help the people. This is our role as the media,” Enggartiasto said.

Also present during the ceremony was Jasa Raharja’s president director Rivan Purwantono,  Agung Sedayu Group boss Sugianto Kusuma, police spokesperson Tjahyono Saputro, as well as the deputy for Jakarta’s transportation agency Syaripudin.
