Jakarta. Secret agents comedy "Comic 8: Casino Kings Part 2" by Anggy Umbara has earned over 600,000 viewers in just four days after it hits theaters nationwide last week.
Producer Frederica told Jakarta Globe that the movie is one of the most successful productions by Falcon Pictures. As the twist at the end of the movie suggests, Frederica said the production house will definitely be making another sequel. "Comic 8: Casino Kings Part 2" opened in 110 screens at 21 Cineplex theaters nationwide. After attracting a smashing record of 105,000 viewers on the opening day, the movie opened to 254 screens on the following day at 21 Cineplex theaters alone.
Trisiska Putri from CGV Blitz said "Comic 8: Casino Kings Part 2" is is showing in all 19 sites of CGV Blitz and it is the first Indonesian movie to be screened at their premium Sphere X theater.
"The enthusiasm for this movie is huge. It is our number one movie since March 3 and currently the biggest Indonesian movie for our customers," she said.
"The movie opened at an average number of screens like other movies, but we noticed the enthusiasm so we are giving it more screens. It is currently showing in 57 screens, almost 50 percent of our total screens," she said.
Frederica said the movie is also playing at Cinemaxx's premium theater, Gold Class.
The movie follows comedians Arie Kriting, Babe Cabiita, Bintang Bete, Ernest Prakasa, Fico Fachriza, Ge Pamungkas, Kemal Palevi, Mongol, who call themselves Comic 8 as they operate against a casino king, played by actress Sophia Latjuba, and her network of online casino kings worldwide.
