Indonesian Athletes Ready to Triumph at 2018 Asian Para Games

OCTOBER 02, 2018

Indonesian athletes with disability are ready for the 2018 Asian Para Games, which will take place in Jakarta on Oct 6-16.

Most of the athletes, who will be competing in various sports, including athletics, wheelchair javelin, wheelchair racing, wheelchair basketball, table tennis and swimming, made their final preparations in Solo, Central Java, before traveling to Jakarta at the end of last month.

The Indonesia Asian Para Games Organizing Committee (Inapgoc) has prepared several venues in the capital, including Gelora Bung Karno Sports Complex in Central Jakarta, where most of the events are to be held.

Athletes from 42 countries are expected to compete in 18 sports during this year's event, in which Indonesia hopes to win at least 17 gold medals.

The country won 126 gold medals at the Asean Para Games in Kuala Lumpur in September last year.
