Jakarta. Three years after their debut performance, the band Muskikimia has finally announced they are aimining to release their debut album next year.

Musikimia is vocalist Andi Fadly Arifuddin (Fadly), drummer Surendro Prasetyo (Yoyok), bassist Rindra Risyanto Noor (Rindra), all members of alternative rock band Padi which has been on hiatus since 2008.

Since then, Padi frontman and guitarist Satriyo Yudi Wahono (Piyu) has been collaborating with other musicians such as rock band Kotak, singers Inna Kamarie, Anji and Citra Scholastika, and released his own album "Sakit Hati" last year.

Filling in the guitarist position in Musikimia is Stephan Santoso, a creative member behind Padi.

During the preview at Grand Indonesia in Jakarta on Wednesday, Stephan said the debut album will feature their take on various music genres, from rock, blue and keroncong.

The upcoming album is produced by Gugun of blues band Gugun Blues Shelter, Eben of metalcore band Burgerkill, Nikita Dompas, Bondan Prakoso and Stevi Item.

"We want to expand ourselves, we don't have to put ourselves in one genre box," Stephan said as quoted by Antara.

For Fadly, the debut album is a chance for each member to explore their musical talents.

"We want to do things that we have never done before," he said.

The debut album is set to release on January 2016. Musikimia has previously launched a mini album "Indonesia Adalah..." in 2013.
