Agus-Sylviana Top Electability on Poltracking Institute Survey
Jakarta. Jakarta governor and deputy governor candidates Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono and Sylviana Murni have topped an electability survey conducted by Poltracking Institute.
Agus and Sylviana led the electability result on 27.92 percent approval, followed by incumbent pair Basuki "Ahok" Tjahaja Purnama and Djarot Saiful Hidayat on 22 percent and Anies Baswedan and Sandiaga Uno trailing on 20.42 percent.
However, undecided voters topped the poll at 29.66 percent, greater than the result of any candidate recorded in the survey.
“Undecided voters will determine which candidates will secure tickets in the runoff election. The three candidates are competing tightly to the second runoff poll,” Poltracking Institute executive director Hanta Yuda said in the survey report released on Sunday (27/11).
A runoff second stage is launched in the case of no candidates reaching the minimum 50 percent plus one vote in the general poll.
In the survey’s simulated runoffs, Agus and Sylviana beat out the incumbents leading 45.92 percent against 24.83 percent. Meanwhile, 37.75 percent of respondents backed Agus and Sylviana ahead of Anies and Sandi on 28.08 percent.
Anies and Sandi boasted 39.92 percent approval among respondents ahead of Basuki and Djarot on 25.75 percent in the runoff simulation.
Undecided voters remained high during the simulations, between 29 to 34 percent.
The survey, conducted Nov. 7 to 17 interviewed 1,200 respondents face-to-face across the province with a 2.8 percent margin of error.
