Manado. Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono made his first official visit to the city of Manado on Thursday, marking his inaugural day as the Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning.

Agus accompanied President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo during a visit to the North Sulawesi capital, where the president inaugurated a newly constructed dam in the nearby regency of Bolaang Mongondow.

During his visit, Agus also made a separate stop at a local church to distribute land certificates. He said the president had instructed him to engage frequently with the people in person.

"This is my first visit to Manado as a minister, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to come to a local church and distribute land certificates to the worship place," Agus said.

It was a busy first day in office for the eldest son of former President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono. Prior to the trip, Agus led his inaugural meeting with the ministry’s high-ranking officials in Jakarta, where he requested reports on their respective programs and targets.

“I couldn’t spend much time with them because I had to attend the inauguration of the Lolak Dam in Bolaang Mongondow regency, North Sulawesi," Agus said.
