Jakarta. Outgoing Jakarta Governor Basuki "Ahok" Tjahaja Purnama said he will hit the public speaking circuit after his administration ends in October and appear in a television show called the "Ahok Show."

"I have decided to become a public speaker [after my term ends]," Ahok said at City Hall on Thursday (04/05).

Ahok said he is not interested in becoming a party official, a minister or a presidential staff.

Instead, he will try to forge a new career as a public speaker and a television show host.

"I'm going to create the 'Ahok Show' with one of the [private] television stations in Jakarta," Ahok said.

When asked if he would consider a run as a vice president with his old partner President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo in the 2019 presidential election, Ahok jokingly replied: "Running for governor is hard enough, let alone as a vice president. It's not a position for an infidel like me."
