Jakarta. State-controlled miner Aneka Tambang, or Antam, received a recommendation from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources for an additional 1.25 million metric tons of nickel ore exports over the next 12 months, chief executive Arie Prabowo Ariotedjo said on Tuesday (24/10).

The additional allocation was based on progress the company has made in a smelter it is developing in East Halmahera, North Maluku, Ariotedjo told reporters.

As of September, the company had exported 1.9 million tons of the metal ore, from an existing 2.7 million tons allocation awarded in April. Antam targets to export 2.7 million tons of nickel ore this year, he added.
