Jakarta. Anti-graft agency KPK is currently investigating an alleged corruption involving the state-run ferry operator ASDP.

According to KPK’s spokesperson Tessa Mahardika, the investigation is related to ASDP's acquisition of the local firm Jembatan Nusantara in 2019-2022. The project in question was worth around Rp 1.3 trillion (around $80.2 million). However, KPK is still counting how much exactly did the country lose in this corruption.

“Well, there is certainly some state loss here. But we are still investigating whether there were acts of bribery,” Tessa said in Jakarta on Tuesday.

The investigation already began earlier this month. KPK has imposed a travel ban on people related to the case. This ban will be in effect for six months.

“On July 11, we sent a letter barring four individuals from going abroad. One of them is A, who comes from the private sector. Three others are from ASDP, and they are HMAC, MYH, and IP,” Tessa said, only addressing them by their initials.

He added: “This travel ban is in place to make sure that the investigation is going well.”
