Jakarta. Two high-ranking officers within Indonesia's National Police on Tuesday officially switched roles, with one becoming the new chief of the country's anti-narcotics agency and the other the chief of detectives.

The National Police chief, Gen. Badrodin Haiti, led the inauguration ceremony, with Comr. Gen. Budi Waseso being appointed head of the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) and Comr. Gen. Anang Iskandar getting the nod to lead the National Police's criminal investigation division.

"Hopefully, BNN will continue to improve and stay focused on narcotics eradication, prevention and rehabilitation under the leadership of Budi," Anang told reporters after the inauguration ceremony at the BNN headquarters in Jakarta.

Separately, Budi promised that he would do exactly what he was ordered to do.
