Clashes in N. Jakarta After Anti-Ahok Rally

Jakarta. A group of unidentified people clashed with police in Luar Batang, Penjaringan, North Jakarta, on Friday (04/11) following the rally against Governor Basuki "Ahok" Tjahaja Purnama.

The attack, which was allegedly perpetrated by local residents, took place at around 9.45 p.m.

BeritaSatu News Channel reported that the group started to throw stones at police officers and members of the Indonesian Military (TNI), who were guarding the area.

Some of the alleged perpetrators reportedly also attacked passing vehicles.

In the Pluit area in North Jakarta, several groups have reportedly started to sweep residential complexes occupied by ethnic Chinese people.
