Jakarta. Creativepreneur Corner, a day-long talk show and networking experience for aspiring young entrepreneurs, returns this year with a new hall-of-fame and a new concept: Science Lab.
The concept's philosophy is based on personal insight of Putri Tanjung, the twenty-year-old Creativepreneur Event Creator founder and chief executive.
"The inspiration comes from my hobby to go to science centers. That aside, a science lab is where scientists do their experiment and find the right formula for their invention."
"That's what Creativepreneur is. Each speaker has his or her own formula for success. Hopefully the audience can learn from them and come up with their own formula," Putri said in a press conference at Conclave Wijaya, Jakarta, on Thursday (26/01).
Philosophy aside, the talk show venue will have a futuristic design and interactive digital features. Virtual reality, interactive LED wall and bright neon lights are part of what the venue has to offer.
"We want the audience to enter a fun, exciting science lab. We aim for a world-class quality stage ambiance with dynamic lighting," Putri added.
Established in 2013, the event still maintains its youthful atmosphere by presenting a series of talk shows combined with entertainment, such as music performances and challenge time for speakers.
"That way, the talk shows are not boring. We enable the audience to network freely with the speakers and find out not just their perspectives, but also their personalities," Putri added.
This year's event adopts "Agents of Action" as the content theme, encouraging young people to not only dream but also to act upon it.
"It's a complete package. It's both entertaining and inspiring. I expect more young innovators to come to the fore after this event," Putri concluded.
Up close with leaders, startup founders, womenpreneurs
Every year, a hall-of-fame of successful figures are set to share their stories. Putri revealed that three criteria were mapped out in choosing the speakers: those who are famous for being hard-to-reach, those who are most talked-about and those who are already famous in their own community yet still need more exposure.
Surabaya mayor Tri Rismaharini, better known as Risma, Lippo Group director John Riady and Creative Economy Agency (Bekraf) head Triawan Munaf belonged to the first criterion.
"There will be all-new information about Risma and her projects with local youths that you've never heard before," Yansen Kamto, chief executive of startup incubator Kibar, spoke on behalf of Risma at the press conference.
Startup founders will also be stars of the event, such as crowdfunding website Kitabisa.com co-founder Alfatih Timur, online ticket booking service Traveloka co-founder Albert Zhang and online marketplace for tutors RuangGuru.com chief executive Belva Devara.
"The importance of this event is to see beyond our success. I want the audience to know that the journey isn't all sunshine and rainbows," Belva said.
Womenpreneurs will also have time to shine, including Kebab Baba Rafi franchise founder Nilam Sari, cosmetic brand Rollover Reaction chief executive and founder Naya Tinanda Nabila and blood donation website Reblood founder Leonika Sari.
"Women are empowered now. Many women are holding key positions in Indonesia, whether it is in the government or entrepreneurial businesses. At Creativepreneur Corner, I want to share how to transform a small-medium enterprise to a worldwide franchise," Nilam, whose kebab chain has outlets in 9 countries, told the Jakarta Globe.
Creativepreneur Corner is set to take place at Senayan City's The Hall, Jakarta on Saturday, Feb. 4, from 9 am to 6 pm. Tickets can be purchased from its official website creativepreneurevent.com or event.detik.com.
