15 District Hospitals Inaugurated for a 'Healthier Jakarta'

APRIL 02, 2015

Jakarta. Jakarta Deputy Governor Djarot Saiful Hidayat inaugurated 15 district hospitals on Thursday, saying the upgrades were part of a government drive to improve Jakartans' health.

The hospitals, which previously functioned as community health clinics, are equipped with 750 patient rooms. Operating rooms, intensive care units and high care units will be installed by the end of 2015.

Djarot said the decision to turn the community health clinics into district hospitals took "courage."

“Now that the hospitals are inaugurated, we hope that they can help provide better service for people,” Djarot said at a hospital opening in Pesanggrahan, South Jakarta.

“It is the government’s duty to improve the people’s health. This is a way to create a healthier Jakarta.”
