Jakarta. Quick counts from several pollsters put incumbent Joko "Jokowi" Widodo on course to winning a second term as president of the Republic of Indonesia after the world's biggest one-day elections took place on Wednesday (17/04).
With around 50 percent of the votes already in, Jokowi and his running mate Ma’ruf Amin are leading by 55 percent to rivals Prabowo Subianto and Sandiaga Uno's 45 percent.
Pollsters Saiful Mujani Research and Consulting, Cyrus and Charta Politika have already collected more than 50 percent of their sample votes.
None of them has called the election for either candidate.
Around three-quarters of 193 million registered voters are expected to participate in the presidential and legislative elections this year.
