Jakarta. A recent electability survey by pollster Indo Barometer named State-Owned Enterprise Minister Erick Thohir as the strongest vice president candidate for the upcoming 2024 election.

Erick’s electability rating stood at 22.9 percent, beating those of other potential candidates, such as East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa (15.8 percent), National Awakening Party (PKB) chairman Muhaimin Iskandar (6.7 percent). Followed by House of Representatives Speaker Puan Maharani (6.3 percent) and tycoon Chairul Tanjung (2.7 percent).

“The public sees Erick Thohir as one of the ministers who have done the best job,” Indo Barometer executive director Muhammad Qodari said on Tuesday, as reported by Investor Daily.

The same Indo Barometer survey also asked its respondents to name the top-performing minister in President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo’s Onward Indonesia cabinet lineup. Erick amassed 9 percent of the respondents’ votes, placing him second after Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto. About 12.4 percent of the respondents picked Prabowo as the cabinet’s best-performing minister. Some 7.6 percent of the survey respondents picked Tourism Minister Sandiaga Uno, and 5.7 percent favored Social Affairs Minister Tri Rismaharini.
