Tulungagung. The Regional Election Commission in Tulungagung, East Java, has discovered 10 foreign nationals listed in the Permanent Voter List (DPT) for the 2024 elections. This marks the second instance, following the inclusion of two Rohingya refugees in the voters' list.

The revelation came to light after the KPU received a list of foreign nationals residing in Tulungagung from the Blitar Immigration Office.

The KPU then conducted a thorough examination and validation process in the field, leading to the identification of 10 foreign nationals included in the DPT.

In response to this finding, the KPU in Tulungagung promptly proposed the removal of seven individuals, while the status of the remaining three is under consultation with the East Java KPU, as they are suspected of having dual citizenship.

"At first, we requested data from the Immigration Office regarding the presence of foreign nationals in Tulungagung. Out of hundreds of foreign nationals, 10 were found to be included in the DPT for the 2024 elections," explained KPU Commissioner Safari Hasan on Monday.

The foreign nationals were recorded in Indonesia's civil administration system issued by the Tulungagung District Population and Civil Registration Office. Moreover, these foreign nationals were able to provide identification cards (KTP) during the verification and data collection process.
