Former Central Bank Official Hartadi Sarwono Secures Top BNI Post

Jakarta. State-controlled Bank Negara Indonesia appointed former Bank Indonesia deputy governor Haryadi A. Sarwono as its new chief commissioner on Tuesday, according to the lender's top executive.
Haryadi A. Sarwono, who joined Bank Indonesia in 1980, was a deputy governor for two periods: from June 2003 to June 2008. He is a graduate from the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) and the University of Oregon, where he earned a Ph.D. in Monetary Theory and Policy.
According to BNI president director Achmad Baiquni, the lender also appointed deputy cabinet secretary Bistok Simbolon as commissioner; and Panji Irawan, former head of treasury for state-controlled lender Bank Mandiri, as director.
