Jakarta. A former minister for state-owned enterprises, Dahlan Iskan, was exonerated from charges of corruption in late August, the Surabaya Corruption Court said on Tuesday (05/09).
In April, Dahlan was sentenced to two years in jail for the flawed sale of an East Java administration-owned company's assets. He appealed after the sentence handed down.
"It was decided by the judges a week before Eid Al-Adha," said Untung Widarto, a spokesman of the court, as quoted by state-run news agency Antara.
Untung said there was a dissenting opinion among judges on the panel.
Only one judge in the panel declared Dahlan guilty, he added.
"Being outnumbered, the panel of judges decided that Dahlan's appeal was granted," Untung said.
