Hary Tanoesoedibjo Files Defamation Case against YouTube Channel

Jakarta. United Indonesia Party (Perindo) Chairman Hary Tanoesoedibjo has filed a defamation case against the owner of a YouTube channel, police confirmed on Thursday.
The police complaint was directed against "Agenda Politik" YouTube channel, but National Police spokesman Brig. Gen. Ahmad Ramadhan didn't go into details.
"[Hary] sent his lawyers to file a complaint against Agenda Politik YouTube channel on March 8," Ahmad said.
Earlier reports by Jakarta-based broadcaster RCTI, one of the TV networks in Hary's MNC Group, said that the YouTube channel has defamed the media tycoon and Perindo by publishing false clips alleging that he and Perindo are in legal trouble.
"The YouTube channel has published content accusing the [Perindo] chairman of being prosecuted for a legal case, which is not true," Christophorus Taufik, an attorney for Hary and Perindo, told the network.
"The channel ran video clips of legal cases which have nothing to do [with Hary]."
According to the police, Hary used the Electronic Information and Transaction Law in the defamation complaint.
