Indian, Australian Prime Ministers Congratulate Jokowi on His Second Term
Jakarta. The leaders of India and Australia congratulated President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo on his re-election through their Twitter accounts on Tuesday.
It started with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who said he expected to work closely with Jokowi in the future to deepen ties between the two countries.
He also wished success to all Indonesian people "under dynamic leadership" of Jokowi over the next five years.

This was followed by Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison, who also congratulated Jokowi and reaffirmed that Indonesia is one of his country's most important strategic partners.

The General Elections Commission (KPU) announced the official results early Tuesday of Indonesia's first simultaneous presidential and legislative elections, on April 17.
Jokowi and his running mate Ma'ruf Amin received 85.6 million votes, or 55.6 percent of the total.
Jokowi made his victory speech in a Jakarta slum on Tuesday afternoon, accompanied by his future vice president.
Jokowi and Ma'ruf are set to be inaugurated on Oct. 20.
