Indonesia Advances to Uber Cup 2024 Final After Beating South Korea 3-2

Jakarta. Indonesia booked a place in the 2024 Uber Cup final after edging out South Korea 3-2. This marks Indonesia's first final appearance since 2008, a gap of 16 years when the tournament was held in Jakarta.
Indonesia's route to the final was confirmed when Komang Ayu Cahya Dewi secured victory over Kim Min Sun in the decisive match held at the Hi-Tech Zone Sports Centre Gymnasium on Saturday. Komang clinched the win with a tight scoreline of 17-21, 21-16, 21-19.
"Frankly, I felt the pressure as I stepped onto the court; it was intense because it was the deciding match. There was a strong desire to prove ourselves, so the tension was high. In the first game, I was completely absorbed in the atmosphere and my opponent's playing style. Afterward, the coach advised me to focus on my game and not let the situation affect me," said Komang in her post-match interview.
In the final, Indonesia will face the host team, China, who secured their place after defeating Japan 3-0.
Looking ahead to tomorrow's final against China, she acknowledged that they were considered underdogs. Therefore, they planned to give their best with nothing to lose.
"I am incredibly proud to reach the final with this team. For years, we've been aiming just to reach the semifinals, and now we have the chance to make it to the final. I am very emotional, touched, and proud of everyone in the team," she added.
