Indonesia Beats Philippines 6-0 in U-19 AFF Opening Match

Surabaya. The Indonesian U-19 team triumphed over the Philippines with a commanding 6-0 victory in their opening group match of the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) U-19 tournament in Surabaya on Wednesday evening.

Naturalized player Jens Raven made an impressive debut, scoring his first-ever goal for the national team as a substitute at Bung Tomo Stadium.

The Garuda team took an early lead with a goal from Arlyansyah Abdulmanan, who found the net from an excellent pass by team captain Dony Tri Pamungkas in the 13th minute.

Iqbal Gwijangge added two more goals, while Kadek Arel Priyatna contributed one, giving Indonesia a massive 4-0 lead by halftime.

Arlyansyah Abdulmanan struck again, making it 5-0 for the hosts six minutes into the second half. Dutch-born Raven sealed the victory with the sixth goal in the 88th minute, adding to the visitors' humiliation.

In another Group A match of the Southeast Asia football tournament, Timor Leste defeated Cambodia 3-2, placing second in the table just below the host team.

Indonesia will play Cambodia on Saturday, while Timor Leste is set to face the Philippines.
