Indonesia Prepares for Paris 2024 with Largest Olympic Team in 20 Years

Jakarta. Youth and Sports Minister Dito Ariotedjo announced that President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo will officially send off the Indonesian contingent for the Paris 2024 Olympics in Jakarta on Wednesday, July 10.
The Indonesian contingent for the Paris Olympics consists of 29 athletes, the largest number in 20 years since the 2004 Athens Olympics when Indonesia sent 38 athletes.
"Many sports have qualified athletes for the Olympics for the first time, so hopefully, the results will make history. We ask for the support of the public," Dito added.
Currently, preparations for the athletes' departure for the Paris Olympics are almost complete, with only administrative and on-field adaptation preparations remaining.
"Preparations are about 80 percent done, just a little more to go. The remaining 20 percent involves finalizing departure details, including administrative and on-field adaptation," Dito explained.
The 2024 Olympics will open on July 26 and conclude on August 11. Indonesia's flagship sport, badminton, will be contested at Porte de La Chapelle Arena, Paris, from July 27 to August 5.
Indonesian athletes will compete in 12 sports at this quadrennial event: archery, surfing, weightlifting, rowing, shooting, gymnastics, climbing, cycling, badminton, judo, and swimming.
