Indonesia Ranks 10th Globally for Most Number of Int'l Schools
Jakarta. Indonesia's growing education sector has become a key market and the top destination for international schools in Southeast Asia, according to data released by International School Consultancy Research.
Indonesia leads the region with a total of 192 international schools out of the 1,027 in the region. Data collected by ISC Research also shows that Indonesia currently ranks 10th globally.
"It is an emerging education powerhouse, with both the number of local and international schools expected to increase dramatically, owing to growth in the student population," Matt Thompson, project director of F&E Education, said in a press release received by the Jakarta Globe.
F&E Education is one of the organizers of the upcoming Global Educational Supplies & Solutions (GESS) Indonesia exhibition and conference, which will take place at the Jakarta Convention Center in Senayan on Sept. 27-29.
The event will feature a series of workshops and sessions that focus on mobile learning-related technologies, aiming to assist students, teachers and parents to find ways to make the most of these tools.
GESS Indonesia hopes to support the growth of mobile learning technology, gathering experts to share industry insights on opportunities and challenges facing Indonesia’s education sector.
"[...] Education decision makers in Indonesia will have a chance to meet local and global suppliers of a wide range of education-focused products and solutions that will help enhance teacher effectiveness and student performance," Thompson said.
