Indonesian Gov't Condemns London Attack
Jakarta. The Indonesian government condemned Saturday's (03/06) attack in the heart of London, which has reportedly killed six people and injured dozens.
"The Indonesian government reaffirms its support and solidarity with the UK government in its efforts to fight terrorism," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.
Indonesian Ambassador to the United Kingdom and Ireland, Rizal Sukma, described the attacks as "cowardly."
In a statement, UK Metropolitan Police Assistant Commissioner Mark Rowley said that the incident began on Saturday night, when a vehicle struck pedestrians on London Bridge and continued to drive to Borough Market, where the suspects assaulted people with knives.Another cowardly attack. Thoughts and prayers for the victims and those affected. #PrayForLondon

Following the attack, London Ambulance Service said that 48 patients have been taken to five hospitals across London, while others were treated at the scene for minor injuries.
British authorities have described the incident – which took place just days before the election on June 8 and less than two weeks after a suicide bomber killed 22 at a concert in Manchester – as a terrorist attack.
As of Sunday, there have been no reports of any Indonesian casualties or fatalities.
The Indonesian Embassy in London advises Indonesians to remain vigilant and to avoid areas surrounding London Bridge, Borough Market and Vauxhall.
