Indonesian Military Prepares Airlift for Injured Palestinians

Jakarta. The Indonesian Military is organizing an operation to evacuate Palestinians injured by the ongoing Israeli military campaign in Gaza for medical treatment in Indonesia once the UN-sponsored ceasefire takes effect.
Armed Forces Commander General Agus Subiyanto said on Friday that a Boeing 737-400/500 and two Hercules C-130 planes will be deployed to Palestine when the situation allows.
The injured Palestinians will be treated at Gatot Soebroto Army Hospital and General Soedirman Hospital, Agus said, adding that the patients will receive quality medical treatment.
In addition, the military is considering sending a floating hospital and logistical assistance to Gaza with a UN permit, he said.
The military announced earlier that nearly 1,400 soldiers were on standby for deployment to peacekeeping operations in Gaza when required by the UN.
