Jakarta. The Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) will implement a Rp 1 fare for mass transportation modes this Saturday.

"In celebration of the Indonesian Military's (TNI) 79th anniversary, Transjakarta, MRT, and LRT will have a special tariff of Rp 1," according to an Instagram post from @dishubdkijakarta on Friday.

The TNI will parade over 1,000 military assets and 100,000 soldiers from the Army, Navy, and Air Force during the anniversary celebrations at Silang Monas, Central Jakarta, on Saturday. The parade will showcase tactical vehicles, armored combat vehicles, tanks, troop transport trucks, weapon launch systems, and jet fighters.

To mitigate congestion, the agency will enforce traffic management in the Monas area, advising the public to avoid the roads and adjust to the traffic arrangements. However, Transjakarta operations that pass through Monas will continue as usual.

Following a ceremony led by President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo, TNI soldiers will perform martial arts, cavalry displays, parachute jumps, and aerobatic shows from the Jupiter Aerobatic Team and Rajawali Flight. The celebration will conclude with performances from popular musicians and bands, including Slank, Dewa, Ari Lasso, and NDX.

Furthermore, the Jakarta provincial government recommends that offices near Monas, M.H. Thamrin, and Jenderal Sudirman adopt work-from-home (WFH) arrangements on Saturday to help ease potential traffic congestion.
