Jakarta. State-owned toll road operator, Jasa Marga, estimates that 808,620 vehicles will leave the Greater Jakarta area during the extended holiday for Ascension Day of Jesus Christ and collective leave, from May 8 to May 12.

Faiza Riani, the Head of Marketing & Communication Department at Jasa Marga, stated that this figure represents the cumulative traffic volume from four main Toll Gates (GT), namely GT Cikupa (heading towards Merak in Banten), GT Ciawi (heading towards Puncak in Bogor, West Java), GT Cikampek Utama (heading towards the Trans Java toll road), and GT Kalihurip Utama (heading towards Bandung, West Java).

"The total traffic volume leaving the Jabodetabek area has increased by 9.8 percent compared to normal traffic," she said in her statement on Thursday.

Faiza detailed that a total of 376,706 vehicles had left Jakarta towards the Trans Java and Bandung directions, 245,240 vehicles towards Merak, and 186,674 vehicles towards Puncak.

She also urged drivers to anticipate their journey before entering the toll roads, including ensuring an adequate supply of fuel.

"Make sure the vehicle and the driver are in prime condition, ensure an adequate supply of fuel and electronic money balance, and comply with traffic signs and instructions from officers," she said.

"Monitor traffic conditions through real-time CCTV on toll roads via the Travoy application. The latest traffic information and traffic service requests on toll roads can be accessed through the Jasa Marga One Call Center at 14080," she added.
