Jakarta. President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo on Tuesday (14/02) is going to inaugurate six mega-projects in Bangka Belitung to accelerate the maritime infrastructure development in the region, the province's governor has said.

"With President Jokowi, we will officiate six infrastructure projects in Bangka and Belitung islands," Governor Rustam Effendi said in Pangkalpinang on Monday.

Rustam said the mega-projects are the Depati Amir Airport terminal in Pangkalpinang, Golden Bridge connecting Pangkalpinang City to Bangka district, floating gas power plant Air Anyir in Bangka, and an interconnected logistics complex.

The president will also open the PICE dam in Belitung and upgrade H.A.S. Hanandjoeddin Airport into an international port.

"The infrastructure projects will accelerate development and improve public welfare," Rustam said, adding that they will also boost the tourism sector in the region.
