Jokowi Spends Christmas Holiday With Family at Safari Park
Jakarta. President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo joined the throng of holidaymakers at popular weekend getaway spot Puncak in Bogor, West Java, to spend Christmas holiday with his family on Sunday (24/12).
Jokowi traveled to Puncak — a mountainous resort area near Bogor — with minimum security. His small entourage included first lady Iriana Widodo, the couple's sons Gibran Rakabuming and Kaesang Pangarep, daughter-in-law (Gibran's wife) Selvi Ananda and grandson Jan Ethes.
The first family spent most of their free time visiting the wild animal park Taman Safari.
"Yes, the president was here for a while. He saw all the animals without getting out of the car," the park’s public relations officer Yulius said as quoted by BeritaSatu.com.
Jokowi and his family then left for lunch at Raffles Restaurant in Megamendung. They sat at a table in the Joglo room at the back of the restaurant, with lush Puncak greenery as the backdrop.
The president had a hot lunch of typical Sundanese food, including fried carp, karedok (raw vegetable salad), jambal cabe ijo (anchovies in green chili sauce), jambal asin (salted fish), sayur asem (sour soup) and petai (stinky green beans).
Jokowi and his entourage only stayed at the restaurant for an hour before returning to the magnificent Dutch colonial style Bogor presidential palace.
