Jakarta. The Judicial Commission will monitor Jakarta Governor Basuki "Ahok" Tjahaja Purnama's upcoming blasphemy trial.

"The commission will safeguard the case, however, to respect the independence of the court our findings will be announced after the legal process," Judicial Commission spokesman Farid Wajdi said on Wednesday (07/12).

Farid said monitoring is also aimed at protecting the judges, and that the commission hopes all parties will receive the verdict.

"If anyone disagrees with the verdict, we urge them to address legal issues with legal measures," Farid said. He added that everyone should respect the judicial system and refrain from harming it through illegal means of expressing disagreement.

"Meanwhile, if the judges violate the ethics, they should be reported to the Supreme Court or to the Judicial Commission," Farid added.

The trial will commence on Dec. 13
