Judicial Commission Secretary-General Dies after Being Treated for Covid-19

Jakarta. Tubagus Rismunandar Ruhijat, the secretary-general of court watchdog Judicial Commission, has died after spending a week at hospital for Covid-19 infection, the commission confirmed on Friday.

"He died on Thursday at 11.35 p.m. at the age of 53. The funeral will take place in Curug, Serang, Banten Province," Judicial Commission Chairman Jaja Ahmad Jayus said in a statement.

Tubagus was admitted to the Pertamina Jaya Hospital in Jakarta last Thursday after he had tested positive for Covid-19. He was transferred to the Gatot Soebroto Army Hospital yesterday, hours before his death.

He joined the commission in May last year after a career at the Coordinating Ministry for Investment and Maritime Affairs.

He is survived by his wife Nani Oktaviani and four children.

Earlier this week, the commission conducted Covid-19 testing for two consecutive days involving 225 employees.

The work from home policy has been extended until July 22, the chairman said in a directive on Friday.
