Malaysia Grants Consular Access to Three Indonesian Terror Suspects
Jakarta. The Indonesian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur said in a statement on Tuesday (24/07) that Malaysia had granted consular access to three Indonesian terror suspects held in the country.
The Royal Malaysian Police arrested the suspects, identified by the initials U.R. (42), Z.K.R. (27) and E.M.D. (26), during special operations in Trengganu, Selangor, Perak and Johor on July 12-17.
"The three Indonesian citizens will remain in custody while the investigation is ongoing… The Indonesian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur will continue monitoring the legal process," the statement said.
Police also arrested four Malaysians during the operation, one of whom allegedly threatened to kill Malaysia's king, Sultan Muhammad V, and Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad.
