Jakarta. Police in Bandung, West Java, have searched the homes of three militants reportedly linked to attacks that killed three police officers at East Jakarta's Kampung Melayu bus station and wounded 12 others, a police spokesman said on Friday (26/05).

Police arrested the three, identified only as J.I.S., W.S. and A.S., in separate locations, including Pasar Baru Trade Center in Bandung, on Thursday afternoon.

West Java Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Yusri Yunus said that during the search officers confiscated documents related to Islamic teachings as well as several other items that might lead to further arrests.

"A computer and a laptop were brought by the counterterrorism unit Densus 88 from J.I.S.'s home. There may be information that will lead us to other perpetrators," Yusri told the Jakarta Globe on Friday.

Yusri said the arrested are suspected of links to Wednesday's attack, but declined to elaborate on their respective roles in the twin explosions.

"We are still investigating whether they were implicated," he said.

Four months ago, a militant detonated a low explosive at the courtyard of the local government office in Cicendo, Bandung, in an attack that caused no casualties and had the bomber shot by police.

In March, police arrested two of his alleged accomplices, who may be connected to the three arrested on Thursday as the wife of one of them is J.I.S.'s wife's sister.
