Police to Question Novel Baswedan, Acquire More Information on Acid Attack

MAY 12, 2017

Jakarta. Police investigators are going to visit again the national antigraft agency's investigator Novel Baswedan, to acquire more information for an investigation on the acid attack against him.

Novel is undergoing a treatment in Singapore for severe injuries to his face and eyes.

The police have released a man who was arrested in relation to the incident, based on the information obtained from Novel.

Jakarta Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Raden Prabowo Argo Yuwono said more questions need to be asked.

"We have to question the victim in Singapore. Earlier, he only gave us a photograph, we weren't able to fully question him. We were watched by Novel's doctor. […] We need to know where the photo came from," Argo said on Thursday (11/05).

The man who was earlier arrested is now a witness in the case.
