Sean Gelael to Conduct Second Test Drive With F1's Toro Rosso
Jakarta. Indonesian Formula Two racer Sean Gelael will drive in a test session with renowned Italian Formula One team Toro Rosso at the Hungaroring Circuit in Mogyoród, Hungary, on Tuesday (01/08).
Sean previously drove with Toro Rosso at the Bahrain International Circuit in April after an offer from team principal Franz Tost. The 20-year-old has been granted three test sessions to drive with Toro Rosso during the current season.
"I'm excited about this second opportunity to test a F1 car, and of course, as a test driver, they will ask input from me about the car they've developed," Sean said in a statement on Monday.
"After that, I'll be concentrating again on my F2 campaign," he added.
Sean earned zero points in the latest F2 round in Hungary over the weekend, finishing ninth in Saturday's feature race before being charged with a 10 second penalty due to breaching the race's "drag reduction system" regulation, eventually dropping into the 14th position.
Sean finished 10th in a sprint race on Sunday.
Sean currently races with Pertamina Arden, owned by Garry Horner and affiliatied with Toro Rosso.
