Singapore-Argentina Friendly Match to Mark 125th Anniversary of Football Association
Jakarta. Singapore's national football team will play against Argentina in June at the city-state's National Stadium to commemorate the 125th birthday of its football association.
The game will see some of the Argentine team's big players such as Lionel Messi, Gonzalo Higuain and Sergio Aguero.
"Argentina are one of the top international teams and have in their squad many world-class players. FAS [the Football Association of Singapore] has worked very hard to finalize the match, which will benefit our players and coaches in terms of invaluable exposure as well as enhance the level of sporting entertainment for fans in Singapore," Singapore coach V. The match organizer expects to see football fans traveling from other Southeast Asian countries.
"The game will not only appeal to fans in Singapore, but will attract football fans from Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and other neighboring countries. It will be a once in a lifetime opportunity to see this generation of Argentinian players compete in Singapore," said Aiden Kwangik Moon, the match promoter.
