State Intelligence Agency Appoints Former Jakarta Military Chief as New Deputy Chief
Jakarta. Maj. Gen. Teddy Lhaksamana, the former Jakarta military command chief, was appointed as the new deputy chief of State Intelligence Agency, or BIN, on Tuesday (28/02), replacing Lt. Gen. Torry Djohar Banguntoro.
Indonesian Military spokesman Maj. Gen. Wuryanto confirmed the appointment in a phone call with the Jakarta Globe.
Teddy left his post as the Jakarta military commander last Thursday as he had entered retirement age.
He was replaced by Maj. Gen. Jaswandi, the former Central Java military commander.
In 2015, Teddy was an expert staff in defense and security at BIN.
Since BIN is a state institution, it allows retired military generals to serve as its officials.
