Voters to Hear Candidates' Plans for Jakarta's Transformation at Sunday Debate

Jakarta. The Jakarta General Election Commission (KPU Jakarta) has announced that the first debate for gubernatorial and vice-gubernatorial candidates will take place on Sunday evening, focusing on strengthening human resources and transforming Jakarta into a global city.

"Candidates will present their programs for developing Jakarta over the next five years as it transitions from being the capital to a global city," said Astri Megantari, head of voter education at KPU Jakarta, on Thursday.

For the debate, KPU Jakarta will feature seven panelists from various fields to pose questions to the candidates. "In the first debate, we plan to have seven panelists who will formulate questions for the candidates," she added.

The debate will last 120 minutes, with each candidate given four minutes to present their vision and programs for building Jakarta in the next five years.

Jakarta's 8.2 million registered voters will choose their new governor on November 27, with three candidates in the race: Ridwan Kamil, Pramono Anung, and Dharma Pongrekun.
