VP Ma'ruf Amin: Raisi’s Death a Major Loss for World Peace

Jakarta. Vice President Ma'ruf Amin said that the world has lost a key figure of peace with the passing of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, who died in a helicopter crash on Sunday, May 19.
"We have lost someone who was committed to creating world peace," said the Vice President after attending the inauguration of the West Sulawesi Provincial Sharia Economic and Financial Committee (KDEKS) in Jakarta on Wednesday.
According to Vice President Amin, the late President Raisi was highly committed to maintaining world peace.
The Vice President also expressed that Indonesia feels a significant loss as Iran is a close friend of the country.
For Vice President Amin, Iran is a nation that promotes peace, mutual respect, and support and has no conflicts with Indonesia.
"This world, for us in Indonesia, is about achieving peace, mutual respect, mutual support, and avoiding conflict. We express our condolences. Iran is a friend of Indonesia," he stated.
As reported, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, along with Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian and seven others in their entourage, were declared dead following a helicopter crash.
The tragic accident occurred in the mountains near the Azerbaijan-Iran border after a meeting between the Iranian President and the President of Azerbaijan to inaugurate a dam located on the border of the two countries.
