Indonesian Development Planning Minister: Institutions To Make The Most Of Asia-Africa Partnership
AACC2015, Jakarta - Minister of National Development Planning/Head of National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) Andrinof Chaniago calls on every Indonesian Ministry or Agency to maximize the potential existing in the Asian and African cooperation.
"Ministry or Agency should be able to take advantage on the social economic cooperation in various forums such as education, health and infrastructure," said Mr. Chaniago, at Jakarta Convention Center, Sunday (4/19).
Mr. Chaniago emphasized the importance of directing the Ministry/Agency in order to strengthen cooperation with Asian and African countries to be in line with the government direction to develop their institution, not only domestically but also with other countries in the region.
He added that the Ministry/Agency in Indonesia should increase partnerships with countries in Asia and Africa. He considers this step will able to develop solidarity and to promote people’s welfare in the region.
He exemplifies that the Ministry of Agriculture has established cooperation with Myanmar in agriculture and fisheries. Bappenas itself has developed cooperation with East Timor in the border area development program.
