Jakarta. A presidentially appointed selection committee tasked with vetting candidates for executive positions at Indonesia's Judicial Commission has submitted a list of seven finalists to the president.

Harkristuti Harkrisnowo, head of the selection committee, told reporters on Thursday that the candidates had passed all the vetting stages, including a profile assessment, with the help of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK) and the National Police.

The committee considered a number of factors in assessing the nominees, such as integrity, competency, leadership, independence and managerial skills, he added.

The final seven include former court judges  Joko Samito and Maradaman Harahap; law practitioners Farid Wajdi and Sumartoyo; law academics Wiwiek Awiati and Harjono; and law expert Sukma Violetta.

"I will forward the names to the House of Representatives immediately," Joko said.

The candidates will replace seven incumbent commissioners in December for a five-year term.
