Jakarta. Sri Rejeki Isman, one of the largest garment manufacturers in Indonesia known as Sritex, and Tokopedia, a local online marketplace, made it to the shortlist of the World Economic Forum’s Global Growth Companies for the East Asian region.

The forum recognizes Global Growth Companies, or GGCs, as “fast-growing companies with the potential to become global economic leaders,” WEF said in a statement on Monday.

Other regional companies on the GGC shortlist include Amata Corporation, which is Thailand’s largest listed industrial estate developer; GrabTaxi, a Malaysia-based automated taxi booking platform for Southeast Asia; Hoa Sen Group, a Vietnamese building material manufacturer; and Mongolian lender Trade and Development Bank.

The winner would join 380 enterprises worldwide in the GGC network, which provides a platform for them to share knowledge and best practices toward responsible and sustainable growth.

Among existing GGC members are Illycaffé, an Italian coffee roasting company, and Kaspersky Lab, a Russian computer and online security provider.

GlobeAsia and the Jakarta Globe are media partners of the 24th World Economic Forum on East Asia event in Jakarta.
